Nailed it

I spent a solid hour and a half on filing, buffing, base coating, painting, top coating, glossing, and drying my nails today...and now I am afraid to touch anything and I can already find imperfections. I'm seriously thinking my $30 at the nail place is wooorrrth it. Just sayin. Not like I'm spending my money on Starbucks or Panera these days! Ha. And that's my thought of the day - manicurist was not my calling.

My facebook news feed looks like the inside of a Dr.'s office. It's sonogram after sonogram! Crazy weird, but happy for this stage of my life with my friendships. Don't expect this news from me for years, but it sure is fun to get to buy baby stuff, hold, feed, and oo-aah over babies while getting a solid 8 hours of sleep every night :) It's joy blossoming everywhere; to all my friends....keep 'em comin! I'll babysit aaanytime :)

Cheetah-licious Monday

Pinterest...I found this link that promises "Victoria's Secret model hair". I mean, if ya can't have the body ya can at least get the hair, right?! That was my thinking. Basically...this is what my bathroom looked like when I left. Eeeeeek. Moral of the story is: Do not try a new set of curlers on a Monday morning. The curls will fail. And, you will have to then use the curling iron and blowdryer and be almost late for school. This disasterous mess does not equal model hair. It equals stress!

Then, if you wear a leopard print camp shirt tucked in to cute black pants one of your 13 year old boy students might tell you that you look, "Cheetah-licious" which will cause you to almost fall off your high-heels in laughter but then have to pull it together to reprimand them. "You have to be appropriate" will be your line to this student who just made you giggle.

When you get home from school you'll have to clean up your bathroom and come to the realization that tonight you'll wash away your VS model-cheatahlicious-hair-fail and go back to just a middle school teacher, small town living, girl next door. ha It was fun while it lasted...and it didn't last long. 7th graders are rough on curls ha. Sigh. Guess God didn't give me curls for a reason. The remnants of my curls are below. See ya later, Pinterest promises! ;)

Biting my tongue

Some parts of my job make me really mad. Usually I love my job, but some parts make me MAD. God had a fun sense of humor when he made me a teacher. The whole patience thing that I'm not so great at yeaaaahhh.....the whole taking insults without biting the other person's head off.....yeeeeaaahhhh.....the whole listening to adults lie about you and tell you that you suck at your job.....yeeeeeaaahhhhh. Let's just say - what a week.

This makes my heart smile.

The View from my Saturdays

Starting to love my new Saturday morning routine! Really hard early morning work out with new friends, breakfast at home before anyone else is up, cleaning, and still having my WHOLE day ahead of me :) Now to write my next section of my Action Research Paper...that's not quite as fun. I need to get back ahead in my Masters. Sigh. Wanna know the most fabulous part about Saturdays? COLLEGE FOOTBALL! Loving Saturdays :)
